Depending on how this weekend goes, we may want to attend another game, maybe a less popular one, if there is such a beast, and invite family. (Maybe Mississippi State?)

I went on the University’s site to see about buying tickets for a future game, and it said none are available. So are all tickets to all football games sold out as of this time?

If students give up their tickets, do they go into a pool that is offered for sale to the public closer in time to gameday?

I’m confused as to how this whole ticket purchase works, since students get their tickets on their ACT card.

I see on the Class of 2014 Facebook site, where a lot of kids are offering to sell their tickets to different games, but how can they do that if the tickets are actually on their ACT card?

I found different websites through a google search, like StubHub and Coast to Coast, but I would feel more comfortable actually buying a ticket from the University itself.

Is there a site like Ticketmaster, which pro sports use, where you can buy your tickets online and have them mailed to you?

Sorry to be so naive, but this whole college football thing is new to us. In our day, you showed your ID and got in for free. Of course, neither of us went to SEC schools, so they were begging kids to fill the seats.

Thanks, mom. We wouldn’t sit in the student section. Just wanted to invite some family that are football fans to a game. I’ve used Stubhub for White Sox tickets when we visited Chicago (Cubs were out of town), but I’ve also just walked up to a ticket window the day of a game for less popular teams (Sorry, Astros), so I didn’t know if tickets were released for sale the day of the game or a few days beforehand. Thanks again, Mom.

Ebay or a Bama themed sports website such as Tider Insider or Bama On Line are your best bet. Use stubhub as your last resort since they are expensive and add on ridiculous fees.

You can get a student ticket transfered into a student guest ticket, but it’s harder to do so now because kids get penalized if they do this too often. Plus you’d have to sit in the student section which is first come first serve.

You should be able to get Miss St tickets for under $80 per for decent seats. Just check around and wait until a week or so before the game. If you tell me how many you need then I can check some of the sites I use for you and let you know what’s out there.

@NJBama, do you think prices will come down closer to the game? I’ve checked around and haven’t been able to find much of anything for $80 and am worried prices will just rise. We’ll be touring the campus on the Friday before this game and would love to try and see this game!

I’ve seen several pairs going for under $200 on the TiderInsider, com ticket exchange board. It’s a pay site so you won’t be able to access the board without being a member. But if you tell me how many you’re looking for, I’ll keep my eye out for you and give you the contact info when I see something that fits what you’re looking for.

As far as prices rising. From my past experiences ticket prices usually are high and then drop to decent levels a week before the game, and even lower a day or two before the game. If you’re willing to wait it out, you can usually find good seats for close to face value outside the stadium an hour before the game. Some people like me don’t have the heart to wait that long though :-)

I’d be willing to bet anything that you’ll be able to get endzone & east side upper deck Miss St tickets for $80. You’d probably be able to get lower bowl seats for $100

Let me know how many you’re looking for and I’ll keep my eye out for you.

Thanks, NJ! We’re still waiting to hear if D’s friend is going to make the trip with us, so it will be either 3 or 4 tickets. I don’t mind waiting until just a few days before the game. I was checking eBay and of course the seller claims not to wait, prices will just go up, so got me a little worried. If we could get lower bowl for around $100 each, I’d rather do that than $80 for upper decks. if you see anything reasonable, let me know. Thanks again!

Will do. If you end up buying from ebay, make sure it’s from a causal seller and not one of the 3 or 4 professional scalpers on there. Those guys are ridiculous with their prices.

Agree with Rose. I’d pay the extra 20 bucks to sit in the lower bowl. I’m freaking out over our high seats for Parents Weekend (I’m scared to death of heights), but looking at the price of tickets, I realized, Beggars can’t be choosy. Don’t even remember what I paid for our San Jose tickets, but I don’t think it was anywhere close to what Stub Hub is asking for. Besides, we’ll be with other parents, so that will make it easier to bear the “Airplane Seats”. But if I’ve got to pay “market price” for a ticket, I’d rather sit in the lower bowl.

And to Rose, be prepared for cowbells at the State game. A somewhat noisy tradition at Mississippi State games. Good luck!
