<p>Hey, I’m planning to take an online course using the BYU Independent Study program. Do UCs accept this and transfer it into a useable GPA?</p>

i am going to a UC this fall, and yes they will accept the credit from BYU, As long as you turn the transcript by the deadline. </p>
