C- on a physics midterm

I am currently a Junior in High School. Before Junior year i maintained a 4.0 unweighted but this year my gpa had dropped by a lot (80% are APs and the other 20% are Honors). Last time I checked I have an A in all of my classes except for Physics, which I struggle a lot with. I have no prior physics experience and got put into AP Physics C Mech. I had a B- in that class and got a C- on my physics midterm (which is going to be 16.7% of my annual grade). I want to go to Yale and the everything else (ec, job, awards, etc.), how negatively is this C- going to impact my chance of admission?

College will only look at your final grade. I think that a B- in AP Physics C with no prep is really good!

  1. Find a book of practice physics problems and do them. Or do all the homework in the chapter, not just what is assigned.
  2. Go to your teacher’s office hours as much as possible and ask for help on things you don’t get.
  3. Get a tutor
  4. Read the chapter ahead of time.
  5. Get into a study group.

College will be tough:…use this time to learn more study skills!

If you get rejected, if won’t be for that C-.
