I am currently a Junior in High School. Before Junior year i maintained a 4.0 unweighted but this year my gpa had dropped by a lot (80% are APs and the other 20% are Honors). Last time I checked I have an A in all of my classes except for Physics, which I struggle a lot with. I have no prior physics experience and got put into AP Physics C Mech. I had a B- in that class and got a C- on my physics midterm (which is going to be 16.7% of my annual grade). I want to go to Yale and the everything else (ec, job, awards, etc.), how negatively is this C- going to impact my chance of admission?
College will only look at your final grade. I think that a B- in AP Physics C with no prep is really good!
- Find a book of practice physics problems and do them. Or do all the homework in the chapter, not just what is assigned.
- Go to your teacher’s office hours as much as possible and ask for help on things you don’t get.
- Get a tutor
- Read the chapter ahead of time.
- Get into a study group.
College will be tough:…use this time to learn more study skills!
If you get rejected, if won’t be for that C-.
