CADR Problem and Transcript

Hi there!

I’ve got several questions regarding CADR and transcript. I’m from Indonesia and recently applied to UW Seattle as an international student.

I was confused with the score matrix as my school doesn’t use CADR or any CADR-like systems. I have contacted my school administrations and officials, but they couldn’t provide any help.

My college counseling teacher (who deals with international student) told me that I merely had to fill every subject box with “1” (which states that I’ve completed a particular course). I didn’t follow him, though.

My transcript only shows the scores of each subject in a particular semester. It doesn’t show any credit points or anything equivalent.

Is this acceptable? Do I have to send any transcript? I do know the fact that UW Seattle only accepts digital transcripts, yet UW Bothell did ask me to send a printed transcript (which relived me).

OP: I Googled CADR, but I’d wager that not one CC participant in fifty (or even more) has any idea what the acronym means or what its significance might be. Therefore, they can’t respond to your inquiry. It would be thoughtful if you’d include a little background information and, who knows, you just might elicit more and better information/opinions.

@TopTier: CADR stands for College Academic Distribution Requirements. http://admit.washington.edu/Admission/International/CADR

I hope that helps

Oh yeah, let me describe Indonesian grading system.

In Indonesia, whether or not you pass a course is determined by its final report score.

For example, in order to pass a particular subject, you’ve to earn at least 65 on your final report. If not, you’ll be considered failed on that subject. Having too many failed subjects will render you ineligible to advance to the next grade.

Credit-using systems does exist in Indonesia, yet they are often limited to universities instead of high schools.

You need to email the international admissions office at UW Seattle, and ask that person what is specifically required of students from your country. They will have steps you need to follow. And yes, at some point you will need to get an official transcript to them. Ask them how that transcript will need to be sent.
