I’ve got several questions regarding CADR and transcript. I’m from Indonesia and recently applied to UW Seattle as an international student.
I was confused with the score matrix as my school doesn’t use CADR or any CADR-like systems. I have contacted my school administrations and officials, but they couldn’t provide any help.
My college counseling teacher (who deals with international student) told me that I merely had to fill every subject box with “1” (which states that I’ve completed a particular course). I didn’t follow him, though.
My transcript only shows the scores of each subject in a particular semester. It doesn’t show any credit points or anything equivalent.
Is this acceptable? Do I have to send any transcript? I do know the fact that UW Seattle only accepts digital transcripts, yet UW Bothell did ask me to send a printed transcript (which relived me).
High school equivalent courses should be given credit based on whether you passed the course or not. When the CADR wants a “year” of a course, they want two semesters or three quarters of work done for that course. Hope this helps.
Hmm, we don’t have such system in Indonesia. In Indonesia, whether or not you pass a course is determined by its final report score.
For example, in order to pass a particular subject, you’ve to earn at least 65 on your final report. If not, you’ll be considered failed on that subject. Having too many failed subjects will render you ineligible to advance to the next grade.
Yet I’m still confused with CADR. In UW’s website, it’s said that one has to earn at least 4 credit on Composition/Literature. Assuming that a year of a course is 2 semesters or 1 year, one would have to study composition for 4 years. Yet in here, high school lasts for only 3 years. Did I make any mistakes on my theory?
If your high school is a 3-year institution, you include middle school.
3rd (or final) year of middle school= 9th grade
1st year of high school= 10th grade, and so on…
You need to get a paper copy of your transcript, scan it, then upload it. You’re right about the years though.
4 credit= 4 years= 8 semesters
Since your school requires a score of 65 or above to pass a course, you’ll need 4 years of English with 65 or above.
