Is anyone here applying for the CAG scholarship?

My S applied for it.

The what scholarship?

CAG = California Association for the Gifted

I found someone who applied for it!!!

Awesome; this is wonderful. The great thing is that most people don't know what it is and so it's better for us applicants. A smaller pool.

I heard it from my former elementary school teacher who is also the GATE coordinator at my school. She recommended me for GATE and impacted my life profoundly.

So, what was your intellectual/artistic passion?

Writing!
(wow, I didn't know there was a rule in this forum against messages that are too short)

My passion for politics.

S's passion is for public policy and politics, eiffelguy. :)

That's awesome. I really hope I earn the scholarship; they select 50 people so there is plenty of room. However, I haven't received my self-addressed, stamped postcard; it's been about a week and I'm getting worried. I already e-mailed them today after checking the mail at about 4. I hope my stuff made it there; I live half-an hour from Riverside.

mine is in research and science.

Well, it turns out that there are many, many applicants this year and it appears that they're having to take a while in sending out confirmations. However, Dana Reupert did send me a notice that they're searching for my transcript ASAP and have my application.

shucks.
still, 50, eh? Does all 50 receive the $1000 dollars? On their website they only featured like 4 or 5 winners so I thought those people were it.

I do believe all 50 receive it; there are practicalities in not posting all 50 winners.
