Just got a $22,000 scholarship... Hallelujah

...from the Northern California Scholarship Foundation. It's $5500/year and it was just an application and an interview :) :) :) There's one less loan I'll be taking out :D

Congratulations!

That's awesome!!!!!!!!! Every parent on CC is drooling!!!!!

Wow, congrats, good for you!

congrats. What's the website for the scholarship?

Well they aren't an open scholarship... they invite 400 schools to nominate a student each and about 80 are chosen from applications to interview. Then 40 of those students are chosen to recieve the scholarship. http://mill-valley.freemasonry.biz/scholarships.htm has some information, but the scholarship value has gone up since then (they list it at $16,000... when I originally applied it was valued at $20,000 but they have since raised it.)

Thanks for the congrats, btw :)

Anyone this year get chosen for an interveiw this year yet? I got a call that said I did! Im so excited!

Congratulations!

thank you but i was wondering if anyone else is doing this or did this last year....

Congrats.

But before you celebrate too much, if you've also got a need-based financial aid offer, make sure that your school won't just reduce their grant aid by $5,500 per year. Some do just that.
