Cal Alumni Association scholarship programs, should I do?

Hey guys. I just got this email:

“Dear _______,
We are happy to invite you to apply for the Cal Alumni Association scholarship programs. Founded by the original graduates of the University of California in 1872, the Cal Alumni Association today represents nearly half a million alumni living throughout the world, and prioritizes providing essential programs and services to support alumni and alumni-student relations. The Alumni Scholars program serves more than 800 scholars through its three primary scholarships: The Achievement Award Program (TAAP), The Kruttschnitt Aspire Program (KASP), and The Leadership Award. Please note: the application deadline for all incoming students (freshman and transfer) is May 1st, 2017.”

I have already been admitted into Berkeley, and I just got this email. I had no prior knowledge about this and this is my very first email from them about the scholarship program. Since it is due May 1, should I apply? Is there time? They can’t… rescind me if my scholarship application is horrible… right? Sorry, I’m just so nervous! I only have 3 weeks to draft, write, and perfect 3 essays! From previous posts, it seems that they announce the scholars before they send out decision letters, so I am a bit confused. When was this scholarship application open? :open_mouth: Thank you!

Apply. You’re not going to lose your spot if you do badly
