Cal Grant A? UCLA

I received a letter in the mail saying that “I have been awarded a preliminary Cal grant award for the 2018-2019 academic year” (I am in senior in HS). I followed to instructions in the letter and created an account for CSAC and so forth. I found that I was awarded a Cal Grant. This is basically what it says:

Cal Grant A: Awarded - On Hold

School of Attendance: 00131500 00 UNIV OF CA - LOS ANGELES

Attendance Status: Full Time Housing Status: CAMPUS
Remaining Eligibility (years): 0

Total Award Amount: $12,630
Tuition/Fees: $12,630
Access/Books & Supplies: $0

So I have a few questions. What does it mean “on hold”? And why is there just UCLA? What about the other UC’s I applied to? How about the Cal States I applied to?

You are not attending UCLA right now, so they have to “hold” the CalGrant. Did you think they were awarding it to you immediately?
You will hear from the other UC’s. The financial aid departments are separate from their admissions department.
You will hear from the other CSUs. Be ''patient.

@“aunt bea” Of course not. I was just wondering how the process of “on hold” works. Thank you, you answered all my questions. Is there a certain time frame when I can expect to see other schools financial aid complete this?

I have the concern about when to claim cal grant…
