Has anyone gotten all their Cal Grant's rejected? I don't really understand my family's income but I was rejected from all the cal grants available. And for UCR, I didn't get any grants from the school itself and only got loans .. that has a 5% interest.. On Cal Grant it did say that my parent's income was over the requirement but I don't think it was that much that I didn't get any grants at all.. I looked for my financial aid for UCR and I have to pay about $30,000 a year now.. Is something wrong? It's just fustrating because I don't think my parents make they much money to not receive any sort of grant... Should I look into it more or what?

If you want someone to help you here, you will need to provide your EFC and GPA.

There are several people on this board that understand specifics of CAL grants. I am sure they will be able to help you if you provide more information.

Federal grants including the CAL grant can be pretty stupid, as in your EFC is $1 higher and you get no aid whatsoever where the person who makes $1 less than you will get a couple hundred dollars a year. I don’t think they usually mess up but make sure you check that you don’t qualify, and you could call the school to ask for more aid, obviously they can’t take aid from you at this point, it’s doubtful but it may help to try

Ask your parents. If their income is over $80k then your income is too high for Blue and Gold promise. That’s what gets you tuition grants as well.

And what was your FAFSA EFC?
