Cal Grant GPA Verification multiple schools

I have attended SMC for the past year +, but attended El Camino over two years ago. Should I make sure both submit my GPA's? Or since SMC has my El Camino transcripts will they take care of it?

Whichever one gets submitted to the CSAC is fine, if they get the GPA verification from only one and deem it sufficient that’s fine …go check your Cal Grant Status it should say

SMC should be the school taking care of that since they have your transcripts and since you currently attend that school.

@cayton - They usually only have transcripts from their campus and send the Cal Grant Verification from their campus and the GPA earned at their campus, but that should be good enough

do they want the gpa from cc or high school?

@randombookie

If you have less than 16 units, they’ll use your high school GPA. If you have 16+ units, they’ll use your college GPA.

@Cayton

Question: I go to SMC too, and I’m curious, how do we have SMC send our GPA verification electronically?

Do they automatically send it when we submit our FAFSA??? I don’t understand.

Plus I took classes at WLAC, LACC, LATTC, CSU, but my main school where I have the most amount of units is SMC…

I went to CSU for 1 year before I transferred out to SMC and I got Cal Grant when I was at CSU.

When I clicked check status, it still says my old CSU school.

Even though I applied to UCs

What do I do?

It’s automatically done, my school already did it about a month ago check yours

But it says Cal State for me, I went for 1 year, and I went to SMC for 2 years after.

It still says Cal State for my school of attendance…

@TonyStak93

SMC does it electronically on their own. I don’t know when exactly they do that, though. They usually don’t need you to ask them to do it.

@TonyStark93

I think I’m asking about the same thing on the other thread: <a href=“Transferring with Cal Grants - UC Transfers - College Confidential Forums”>Transferring with Cal Grants - UC Transfers - College Confidential Forums;

I don’t know how to change the cal grants schools :I. Esp. going from cc to csu/uc

@xxcapital

Nah what I’m asking is, how do I change the school of attendance on my Cal Grant.

Because I received Cal Grant B when I was in CSU 2011-2012 and Cal Grant automatically renewed itself for THAT school.

Even though I don’t go to that school anymore. I left and came to CC for 2 years and now I am transferring to a UC!

@TonyStark93 That’s what I’m practically asking too ,____,

@TonyStark93 - All you need to do is go in the CSAC website and do a submit a school change, which they will not currently accept until March 2nd or after. This should’ve been done as soon as you transferred to SMC :confused:

You live you learn, call the CSAC in the morning and see if they can do an expedited one before the March 2nd when they start accepting school changes for renewals

@Matt4200

Ugh… I didn’t even know because I never received Cal Grant for SMC…

I should’ve never went to CSU…Would’ve made my life SO much more easier.

I’m gonna call them tomorrow…
