I submitted a FAFSA on time, but one of the school I submitted to was wrong. Can I still submit my FAFSA to that school and be eligible for the cal grant?

You can still edit your FAFSA and change where you want your financial aid to go. You can also monitor your CAL Grant on CSAC.

So I still get my aid?

Wait so you are saying you submitted to a wrong school at first and you want to change it to a different school?

Have you ever received a CAL Grant before?

Create a CSAC account and check.

Call your school too.

I submitted my FAFSA to the UCs but not UCSD, I accidentally sent it to SDSU

What you can still do is that go to the FAFSA correction page and delete SDSU from the list and add UCSD. Once you find out what college you will be matriculating, change it to that university as your first choice.

Yes, you can add schools to recieve a fafsa report. But, know that the March 2 deadline for UC finaid is a HARD deadline. When campus grant funds run out they run out -- priority is given to those who meet the deadline.

I thought the CAL Grant is a state grant. Doesn't this mean the state rewards it and not the college? The CAL Grant is all I'm worried about.

From what I understand, each college has Cal Grant monies to disperse (CA residents...please correct me if I'm wrong). Once they are gone...they are gone. AND from what I've heard and read, the deadline is one that is firmly adhered to. If you don't meet the deadline, you are not eligible to receive the grant.

The Cal Grant rules are pretty clear: You MUST apply by March 2..." (unless attending a community college). But, the only thing you can do is to update your fafsa and send to the correct campus and grovel to thier finaid office.

Good luck.

Financial Aid Grants, Grants for School / College Students, California Financial Aid: Cal Grants

The Cal Grant is awarded by the state, not the college. As long as your FAFSA was submitted in time with at least one California university listed, and your GPA was submitted on time, it should not be a problem. You can change your school of attendance multiple times (my D changed hers three times in April last year), and if you transfer to another California college and fill out the appropriate paperwork, you can take your Cal Grant with you.

The deadline you missed is the UCSD FAFSA deadline, so your concern is with the Perkins loans and University Grants they may have disbursed to you. Add UCSD to your FAFSA as soon as possible and contact the financial aid office and explian the SDSU mixup, and hope for the best.
