Who is the 19 who saw it and did they previously apply or attend UCB? I think it may mean something if you applied before and can't see it but there are way to many people that have never applied to or attended UCB that don't see it for that to mean anything.

Ah OK. Well, like I said with the 19s, we don't have enough information to decide either way. The housing app=admissions theory was for CalNet ID < 18 ONLY.

But I am more interested in hearing about this EOP message. I probably won't be able to see it, though, because I've already submitted the damn application!

How about this: for some reason, if you have been entered into the system before, and you can access the housing app, it means you're in. If you've never been entered into the system at all (ie, no HS, no summer session), it doesn't mean anything either way. They probably have the housing application "locked" for those students new to the database, but for some reason "unlocked" for the second-timers.

guys. why would they ever archive application id's from previous years (high schools? that doesnt make any sense at all. if they didnt admit the students, even if they HAD at one point a profile for them, it doesnt make any sense. i really think we're pulling straws out of a scarecrow here. i mean, saying that you can see an application-when the administration has repeatedly been surprised that applicants can access them- and when confronted about it, no action has been taken...this whole thing is on REALLY shaky grounds to me.

I agree zemook. I think that the only reason our HS information is coming up is because of the old e-mail addresses. I would guess that it links e-mail addresses to social security numbers, and then just uses the first one it has saved (the old one).

^Someone posted saying that at the bottom of the app it said, "You don't have to pay the $20 because you were either accepted as an EOP applicant or qualified for a fee waiver."

yeah that.
the people who sees that message COULD NOT SEE IT BEFORE
so it's a CHANGE which probably means something

laguna first discovered this but I guess he didn't post it here

Our records indicate that you have been accepted as an Educational Opportunity Program student, and/or you qualified for the University of California admissions application fee waiver, and accordingly the Housing Application fee will be waived for this application.
