I can see the application. ID starts with 18.

I applied to Cal out of high school, didn't get in.

Econ 3.76, if that helps at all.

I have a friend who already got a rejection letter from Berkeley, about two weeks ago, because he will not have finished his requirements by this term. I asked him to log into the housing site... he can't see the application.

Good news?

haha not for us that can't see the application lol. I'm a 19 though, so I hope I am in limbo and not rejected....

BanditGirl, did you actually see the letter? Maybe your friend is just joking around.

No, I haven't seen the letter, but I really don't think he was joking.

Dosen't mean a thing. I am a 19, but went to summer school last year.

I can see the housing application.

Yes, some people have already gotten rejected, it is people who flat out don't have requirements done.

Really? So your talking about those with less than 80% complete Wilderr?

The people I heard of getting rejected (this was a wile ago) were "significantly" incomplete, I have no numbers on it though. If I had to guess it would be like 50%?

have you seen the letters?

I've just been struck by a thought. What we really need to know is whether transfer students who applied out of HS receive a NEW id once they are accepted. Does anyone have quick contact with any current students at Cal who transferred there and applied out of HS?

I think this is important...

also, when were people able to see their cal ID? because if was anytime before march then you know they havnt had time to accept/reject anyone.

People were able to see them before Cal made any decisions.

Edit: don't expect this to convince anyone, I've brought it up a dozen times.

I didn't know what my Cal ID was until I logged into the housing site..

Good point Wilderr, I also wonder if they assign new ID's to students that are admitted. It makes sense as far as filing/those things go because on can easily identify what year of entry (or general timing) determined by the ID.

This housing thing has been a real maze of clues and red herrings!

Anyone know when someone first tried to see the housing application with success? I know that Engineering decisions were complete at the start of April (through my berk counselor) so when do you think they might have begun reviewing apps/making decisions?

Edit: I looked back at the thread for UC's and it seems the housing thing started somewhere at the start of april, and picked up steam through the 11th. So that means there was time for decisions to be made, if that is what this concludes...

I saw mine in early April however, I had never tried to log in before so I dont know if I could or couldent. Frankly I assume I could have seen the thing since I attended Berkeley last summer.

The only thing that is interesting is that the current app is for next year; however, I assume they would just roll their existing database over which would have included me.

I hate to bring this up in this thread, but for those that know their passcode (went to summer school) try logging into Tele-Bears and Info-Bears...Those responses are interesting. One lets me in, the other does not.

I think the only "telling" possiblity for the hsouing application is if you find someone who 1) Never went to a UC 2) Never applied to cal out of hs 3) not a inter UC transfer and they "Can" see it... That may have meaning.... Until then, Its a great unknown.

Bandit, was your friend who got the rejection letter a transfer student?

i wonder if haas issues preliminary rejections, since so many people fail to meet requirements..

Just out of curiosity, is anyone going attend the incoming transfer student summer session if they get admitted? If so, we like totally need to have a party. A big, fat, "Welcome to California" party. And people will be saying things like "Hella" and "naw bra" and "bomb" and whatever you California kids say. And people will be like "Yeah, I'm from LA" or "OC" or "SD" or something like that and I'll be like "yeah, I'm from NC." And they'll be like, "is that a city in California?" and I'll be like, "no, it's state back east ("back East" is correct right?) And they'll be like "Oh...I'm sorry." But I'll be like, "no, it's cool. I have no intent ever to return." And they'll be like "word." And all will be hella good.
