Debate is NOT geeky =p

Nothing about this "board" requires/involves the scientific method. If someone is actually 'banking' on these postulates, then they should stop. But i think it provides hope and encouragement, for those who actually, actually, believe-for the right reasons- that they have a chance of getting in.

BIG PROBLEM

I am now worked up since my application for housing has been revised and I can see it..... In my mind, I have convinced myself I have gotten in.

IF this application things means NOTHING: and I am denied......

The DEVASTATION is going to now be that much GREATER....

I can't find any record of last years thread looking at this idea... Either they arent as anal, or it never occured to them....

It has to mean something, since it clearly says "newly admitted students". Obviously, housing isnt going to update your information for nothing.

the devastation would have always been great... in the back of your mind, i'm sure, you've still been skeptical because of the way we've been speculating for months.

For those of you who are able to see the words, "Newly admitted student" on their housing app,

can any of you provide a screen shot???

I agree Mojo there is too much data that points that way... And that is exactly my point, if its not true....OUCH..

The only thing that makes me nervous right now is that fact that HeavyMetal can see the housing app... He got denied to UCLA, but maybe that truly shows that one dosent have any meaning over the other.

ILuv - You dont need a screen shot, its at the login screen for the application...

its not on the application, its on the page where you sign in.

Heavymetal is a big time hoaxster

oh, thanks mojo....

i pwn u in CS. ok

I got denied from UCLA, like Heavymetal, but I can see the app.

[From the OED] "theory": In loose or general sense: A hypothesis proposed as an explanation; hence, a mere hypothesis, speculation, conjecture; an idea or set of ideas about something; an individual view or notion.

A scheme or system of ideas or statements held as an explanation or account of a group of facts or phenomena; a hypothesis that has been confirmed or established by observation or experiment, and is propounded or accepted as accounting for the known facts; a statement of what are held to be the general laws, principles, or causes of something known or observed.

"prophecy":The foretelling of future events; orig. as an inspired action; extended to foretelling by any means; an instance of this. A prediction.

lol, ucla is different than cal, either way, your gpa was high. If i remember it was 3.8 +, you were an econ transfer and werent tap certified. Alot of the tap kids got into econ, which explains why most spots were already filled.

There is no CalNet ID 18XXXXX43. If you need further information about your CalNet ID, please contact User and Account Services at accounts@berkeley.edu, (510) 642-7355 (M-F, 10-4) .

CalNet ID 15XXX742 has not yet been activated.

These, make the difference. Can anyone explain them? And why for me, it changed today.

Mojojojo, I like your name. Reminds me of Power Puff Girls.

anyway, I agree.

The fact of the matter is, we are literally 48 hours away from knowing the decisions. There is no point arguing, what is done is done. I would like to think that those that somehow figured this out have done a favor to future applicants, in that they will probably be going insane over this information next spring as well.

Some things I noticed that we should clear up about this: (between a friend and I):

We found 3 options for that Cal Net ID thing

1) you submit your ID, you recieve "not activated yet"
2) you submit your ID, you recieve "does not exist"
3) yo submit a fake ID, you recieve "the cal net id is not in the system"

Therefore, 2 and 3 must mean different things, in the sense that one is entered in the system but does not exist, whereas the other never existed in the first place.

I would maintain a highly skeptical impression of what all this means regardless.

thanks, banditgirl ;)

niggit:

1) accepted
2) rejecte
3) wilderrland

Omg you guys, haha. Let's be nice to each other.
