Unit 3 Triple is what I got. I wanted Unit 1 or 2, but at least I didn't get one of those $17k suites.

Just log on to the Berkeley housing site. And begin Phase 2 to see your offer.

WEAK!!!

Who needs a roommate for the school year.? haha…

Just a suggestion for both of you. I don’t know whether you are dead-set on living on-campus or not, but if you are open to living off-campus, check out Cal rentals. I found a guest house to rent in North Berkeley for $600/mo including utilities.

And WOW! Over 15k for 9 months? That is over $1600/mo and you have to share a bedroom? No way in hell.

I got a Unit 2 triple…i really hope I’m not rooming with freshmen…

Unit 2 Double…I would have much preferred Unit 3.

I also got unit 2 triple…I don’t know how I feel about it!

I have a pimp ass apartment in Sacramento right now and I pay $1250 with my roommate. I applied for the Wada and Bandwich Apartments<---- I dunno if that’s what they are called, and I was considering them for a more social atmosphere…But 15K + for a triple occupied dorm room…geez…I almost **** myself. I give Cal credit for managing to rape that many people into paying an exorbitant amount of money for an overcrowded room.

I’m staying in a Unit 2 Double for my mandatory Summer Session for Haas, but I’m definitely going to be looking for other housing options for the school year. I was on Cal Rentals and Craigslist today and I came across a few decent options…the nicer homes tended to be in the Berkeley Hills area.

I’ve been dealing with the bureaucratic nightmare of an administration at Cal for a few weeks…so far my opinion of the school is not favorable. They can shove their 15K triple up their ass.

/rant

is there a waiting list for Wada?

Unit 3 Triple!! Exactly what I wanted. Since all of the dorm rooms are going to be crowded, at least in this case I’ll be crowded with some extra money in my pocko!

Loski-Wow, sorry to hear that! I agree though, I’m running into a lot of problems as well. Mostly in regard to registering for classes and not getting a response from, well, anyone. It is very frustrating. What problems have had?

Unit 2 Residential Hall Double!!!

I received a lot of aid and now they are taking it back because of my veterans benefits. I went to Iraq and experienced a ******** war, just to have my aid taken away and replaced with benefits I am already entitled to. According to the Higher Education Act of 1965, VA educational benefits are considered resources and not income and should not effect any federal aid derived from the FAFSA…Then why did they slash my Pell Grants and subsidized loans? Sacramento City College never did, they are the ones that pointed out that VA educational benefits were not income. It almost makes sense not to use my VA benefits while attending undergrad if the amount of aid is the same. I could use it for grad school if I decide to go…

The Financial Aid Office is refusing to transfer my call to my financial aid officer and she has not responded to my email in over a week. A previous question regarding having an “other financial aid document missing” took almost 14 days until I got an answer…I had to email her supervisor twice just to find out what the “other financial aid document” was…why couldn’t they list what the hell they wanted?

When I went to the registrars office to fill out some paper work for the VA, they were probably the most incompetent and rude bunch of people I have encountered. They lost my paperwork I hand delivered and I still have not received confirmation that they received my fax of the documents they lost. I know the VA hasn’t received them yet…Geez…

I know they have to deal with a bunch of students and things take time, but I figured they would have a system in place that was a little more efficient…My time at Sac City was smooth and hassle free with every administrative department I dealt with…

…and with my housing offer today, it all adds to build frustration…bleh

The undergrad office at Haas was very pleasant I must say…so I guess it is not all ****.

/rant2, sorry for the off topic post.

So we get transfers are our dorm mates right?

I really don’t want to be stuck with people that I wouldn’t be able to do any 21+ stuff in San Francisco with.

I’m not sure Tiberius. One girl on one of the transfer facebook groups said that she was in a unit 3 triple with 2 freshmen…

Pretty happy. Would have preferred it be in Unit 1, but a Unit 2 Mini-Suite Double will do. :)

WHYYY is mine not out hahahaha!! is anyone else in the same boat?

Unit 1 triple suite, what does that mean, 3 rooms? please tell me 3 rooms! AH

Foothill dorms, triple.

All this talk about how expensive the dorms are is making me feel uneasy, but I’m honestly rather optimistic about it. My parents encouraged me to try dorms the first semester at least, so as long as they’re okay with it, I’m okay with it too.

Slightly apprehensive about the roommate situation, but I’ll stay open-minded about that too. If I end up not liking my roommates, I’ll just keep to myself, I suppose. Anyway, my friend’s an RA at Foothill, I think, so it’ll be nice to have someone I already know nearby anyway.

Unit 2 Mini Suite Triple. Not too bad… I hope I am not living with Freshmen, though. I will try to be open-minded and welcoming to whomever I live with, though!

Loski-Oh my gosh, that is horrible! May I make a suggestion? Call the TRSP center. I don’t know if you are familiar with them, but they really seem to go out of their way to help transfer students. Tell them your frustrations and see if they can direct you to a person that can REALLY help you.

I know how frustrating financial aid is, I am probably going to end up with $30k in loans after all is said and done. :-(
