Cal --- how do you find the major you got admitted?

This may sound really dumb, but I can't find the major to which I'm admitted. The welcome page just says I'm admitted to the College of Engineering without saying the major.

I know that you have only one choice for major when you apply, so I guess people know the accepted major by that information.

It's becoming my concern that I may not been able to get into the major I wanted but somehow got into the general body of engineering department (something like an undeclared engineering student)

????? what's going on with this?

hmm, not sure about the school of engineering, but I know that in L&S, you are not admitted into any major when accepted. You have to declare it within the first semester.

^So is it a problem that I still have two prereqs to complete for English? Why would they accept me if I wouldn’t be able to get into my major?

It shouldn’t be a problem. Each department has their requirements, so look at the english department for yours :P

@ FeeFee: i believe you have to finish your pre-reqs at Berkeley before you can petition for your major. i think.

UCBlove: Thanks for ur reply~~

But anyone from engineering major? Did u get into the major or the college?

When I checked the website it just said that I was accepted into the college of engineering. I received my official packet today in the mail that said “I am pleased to offer you admission to the College of Engineering in the major of Mechanical Engineering”

So I guess you just wait until the send you the packet. Which engineering did you apply for btw? Just curious.
