Great info there. Can you provide a link where these data are pulled from please? thanks!

fbfall09.pdf;

That link (for Fall 2009) shows acceptance rates of 37% for first time freshmen and 22% for transfers. It shows Freshman acceptance rates of:

Agriculture 47%
Arch 21%
Engineering 43%
LA 31%
Bus. 36%
Sci & Math 40%

The stats posted by the OP showed significantly lower acceptance rates in all colleges (except Arch and Bus). Perhaps the OP has the new numbers (Fall 2010) ???

its on the official website of course…

http://www.ess.calpoly.edu/_admiss/Pdf/Profile10_51910.pdf

I read where it’s 32% for freshmen of 2010. Where did you come across 28%, BestIndaWest? Either number makes it a selective school.

its 28% for overall admission rate (freshman+transfer). its all students

Did the deadline already pass for notifying transfer students? Still says I’m on the wait list and I haven’t received anything in the mail. Probably bad news, but it would be nice if they actually said anything.

I applied to Aerospace Engineering btw. Bad admittance rate =/

@chess2226, are you freshman or transfer, are you from the local area?? Whats your residency status. Schools usually give priority to local students first.

As I implied, I am a transfer student, and while SLO is about a four hour drive, I am from California. The question was whether I should have been given an answer yet or not (in different words).

Sorry for not being clear

Chess2226, transfers are supposed to hear by July 15th. I’m also a waitlisted transfer for aerospace.

For fall 2010, SLO’s overall acceptance rate is 29%. With freshman acceptance of 32%, and transfer acceptance of 13%.
