Does Cal Poly honor transfer degrees? So if you were transferring from Cuesta would you get priority consideration? Would it help at all? Any and all input would be appreciated!
This is from the Cuesta website:::
Cal Poly SLO does not have Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) programs with any California community college, including Cuesta. Our students compete on the same playing field as all other transfer students in the Cal Poly SLO’s selection process.
One of the most important statistics when considering transfer to a university is acceptance rates, the percentage of students that were actually accepted of those who applied. Although Cal Poly SLO’s acceptance rates have been on an overall decline since Fall 2007 (meaning it’s been getting more competitive and tougher to get in), acceptance rates to Cal Poly SLO for Cuesta students have remained among the highest in the state and substantially higher than the statewide average.

Yes, it will help - but it does not guarantee admission. I graduated with an AS-T in Physics and another in Mathematics from my community college. The Associate for Transfer program is different than the TAG - which I believe is a UC specific program. Even with the TAG at UC schools there were caveats.
Basically if you complete the AS-T, that shows you’ve completed the GEs that the CSU’s are looking for and makes you more competitive. If you can get the AA/AS-T, and complete some major specific courses, then you will be looking good.
Also if I remember correctly, the AA-T program does guarantee you will be admitted to at least one of the CSUs you apply to.
Good luck!
