@Minmil Just checked, if it helps any there was no change in waitlist status for me.
I accepted the waitlist, but my portal still has “You will be emailed a survey confirming if you would like to remain on the waitlist or no longer be considered for admission to Cal Poly” anyone else?
@Molly55 mine still says that too!
Called Cal Poly today, they said they won’t start notifying people about the waitlist until May 1st at the EARLIEST :((
@Molly55 Well yeah, considering that waitlist admits are solely dependent on whether or not admitted students even accept by the deadline of May 1st.
Do you think admissions would tell you were you are on the waitlist? And if yes does anyone have a good phone number for the admissions person that is in charge of the waitlist? Thank you.
They told me but i dint have the number
At least y’all are waitlisted. I’m still sitting in “No determination” hell.
Major: Computer Science
Local(Y/N): Los Angeles so don’t think so
GPA that you applied with: 4.55 CSU GPA
SAT/ACT: 32 ACT
How do you find a good roommate if you’re wait listed
At least for transfers, the housing app (including roommate selections) can be modified through May 8. So once you get in, you still have an opportunity to get friends to cross-list with you.
Major: Business Admin - Finance
Local(Y/N): Yes, Cuesta College.
GPA that you applied with: 3.59 plus AST
IF TRANSFER:
Required Classes finished?: Yes finishing this semester
Golden 4?: A’s finished
Supplemental?: Finished/IP
@rocket88. I feel the same about the UC system. My son was Rejected by 5 UC’s with 4.0 UW GPA ACT 31, numerous EC’s, 5 AP’s with scores of 4 or better on 3 tests to date (will take 2 in May), working 21+ hours per week, various awards, clubs, etc.
He applied to the Economics program within the different colleges at UCLA, UCSD, UCB, UCD and UCSB.
The more rejections he received, the more bitter I became.
How does it not become a personal rejection when you are denied because of your personal insight responses? No one helped my son write his responses and they detailed very personal experiences.
Does anyone knows how housing works if we get off the waitlist? I saw the housing application is due on May 8th, but we probably won’t hear back until after then, so it would stink if we don’t have a chance at living on campus
^
basically all of the acceptances are sent in the first week of may going off of last years waitlist
Any updates? Anyone?
I emailed admissions about waitlist status changes about a month ago, although their response lends no new information sadly.
"Thank you for your e-mail and question.
Qualified applicants are offered Wait List standing based on their selected major and at their level (freshmen or transfer).
There are no ‘rankings’ on the Wait List. The real question is whether or not additional openings may become available in any given major.
We will notify all freshmen applicants of their final Wait List status by May 15 (transfer applicants by July 15). If we are able to contact anyone sooner, we will do so.
As it is impossible to predict future openings in specific major programs, we encourage those offered Wait List standing to give full consideration to available options at other institutions.
Feel free to contact us if you have anymore questions.
