So right now I’m deciding between Cal Poly SLO and SDSU for Journalism. According to the list of ACEJMC’s (Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication) accredited programs ([ACEJMC-accredited programs](http://www2.ku.edu/~acejmc/STUDENT/PROGLIST.SHTML)), SDSU is on there but CP is not. I am wondering if this makes a difference in their Journ programs?

Also, I plan to prep for the pre-dental path. Both schools seem to offer assistance in those areas. Is one better than the other? And why?

Why are you majoring in journalism if you want to become a dentist? Just curious cause all the journalism majors I know don’t really like math/science. Accreditation does not make a HUGE difference for journalism, especially if you intend to go down a different career path, like dentistry. Involvement matters much more. If you go to an accredited school, but have no internships or anything, it doesn’t matter. Journalism is not the hardest major out there in terms of content you have to learn, but it is still very hard work. If you’re interning at a TV station, or are editor in chief of the Mustang Daily, you’re gonna be working a lot. And learning a lot. I think for most liberal arts majors, your experience matters more than anything else.
