Journalism at a non ACEJMC accredited school

Of the schools I am applying to, Washington State and Western Washington both offer journalism programs that are not accredited by the ACEJMC. If I were to choose to attend either of these universities over schools that were comprehensively lower ranked, yet had an accredited journalism school/program, would that be a negative decision on my part?

Also, should school location play a more defining roll in the selection of university than accreditation?

No. To be honest, ACEJMC accreditation doesn’t matter. No editor goes and looks up the accreditation status of an applicant’s journalism department.

The most important part of any journalism education is the work product you come out with. Your clip file is your resum

Thank you.
