Anybody have any information about this (OsakaDad)?
The financial aid office told me scholarships wouldn’t be awarded until sometime around May, but maybe they wanted to give an incentive right before the deadline of Jan. 15?

They are for out-of-state students. My daughter received one her freshman year. I can’t recall when we found out about it but I think it was before May. However, my daughter was admitted ED so that may be why it was earlier.

That was my initial thought. What made me question my thinking was that I specifically asked a lady in the financial aid office if there were any specific scholarships for out of state students, and she said no.

received a cal poly outreach scholarship this morning. i’m not sure how to get it transferred into my bank account (direct deposit?) so any information on that would be helpful.

p.s. i don’t know if this is consequential in any way but i accepted my offer of admission a couple weeks ago!

Congratulations!! I can only suggest that you work directly with the authority that issued it. If they gave you the money, then they will definitely transfer it to you at the appropriate time. My kid was awarded loans and they were issued at the time of enrollment. The money went to the school first and whatever was left over was transferred directly to our account. It is called a “refund” and you must go online to the Money Matters tab and sign up. The financial aid office will walk you through the process over the phone.
