**Cal Poly Pomona Class of 2025 Decisions**

That sounds right, I have seen from a few sources that the two Polys were the only Calstates that had an increase in applications.

San Diego State, CSU Fullerton and Long Beach also saw increases in applications besides the Cal Poly’s, so the more popular impacted campuses saw increases overall.

Humboldt State is suffering so much because of their remote location combined with Covid that they’re contemplating renaming as the third Poly. In my opinion, it’s not that simple and may continue to shrink regardless.

Did anyone else here get rejected at CPP and accepted at SLO? My son was rejected at CPP and hasn’t heard from SLO yet. Fingers crossed he gets good news like you did.

Each campus is using different criteria when it comes to evaluating applicants this year due to being test blind. What I have seen this year for CPP, CSU GPA is a huge factor along with Math grades and being local vs non-local.

SLO has always done things differently but HS course rigor seems to be emphasized this year (many admitted students with DE courses) along with more diversity such as OOS students and strong EC’s. Again, my opinion only.

Unfortunately, neither CPP nor CPSLO is fully transparent about how their point systems are calculated (like SJSU is), although past CPSLO MCA formulae have been revealed or reverse-engineered. If they were fully transparent about that and each major’s admission threshold, it would be easy to find out why an applicant would be admitted to CPP but not CPSLO (e.g. the major may have been more competitive at CPP, and/or the applicant had attributes that CPSLO valued but CPP did not).

I just saw someone post about getting waitlisted at CPP and accepted at SLO.

Daughter waitlisted for ME
GPA unweighted is 3.97 H.S.
GPA college courses is 3.97
OOS from Washington state
Has taken just 3 AP courses but will graduate with a AA at the local college
At the time of graduation, she will have completed her Engineering Physics requirement and Calculus series (up to Calc 4) , currently taking a few engineering courses at the college like statics and dynamics.
No experience in her ME field.
Has plenty of volunteer hours, was a club gymnast for 9 years and coached for 1 year, a few clubs at school.

But was accepted by Cal Poly SLO in ME, which was one of her top choices.

According to the SLO Tribune this morning, only SLO, Pomona, SD and Bakersfield had an increase in applications for 2021.

CPP anticipates virtual fall 2021 semester ahead of campus announcement | The Poly Post

Wow, well, those kinds of issues will be a big deciding factor in Fall plans for many, I imagine. Unfortunately, even if schools says they’ll be in person, we all know they will have to pivot to remote if circumstances demand it, so decisions will be tricky. Might be community college for my guy.

Seems like they are making a pessimistic assumption on vaccine (lack of) availability in time for the fall 2021 semester.

CPP- DD Admitted

HS Weighted GPA 4.51
Unweighted GPA 3.92
Major: Business (changing to Psych?)
8 AP classes

DS21 got accepted early to CPP and SDSU in Computer Engineering. Can anyone give me an input which one has a better computer engineering program? Also, is it possible to minor in CS later? My understanding is CS at both schools are not in Engineering Dept. DS is going to focus on robotics (programming) or cybersecurity/network security for industrial or defenses.

Freshmen applications are up 8% this year.
