Cal poly pomona, CSU Long Beach

Wondering which one would be better for a degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering. Also if anyone knows the rankings of these schools.

Long Beach is a better school than Pomona IMO. Check out the stats on engineering for both schools, also check out job placement and recruiting at each campus. There used to be alot of aerospace companies in and around Long Beach although many are now closing or moving out of state. Boeing is still there and I know they do internships. Not sure about Pomona. Do some homework.

I am currently a Mechanical Engineering major at Cal Poly Pomona. As for rankings, according to the U.S. News & World Report 2006 College Rankings, Cal Poly Pomona's engineering program is ranked 14th in the nation overall, 5th among public schools. (The other public schools are San Luis Obispo, U.S. Military Academic, U.S. Naval Academy, and U.S. Air Force Academy)

The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering programs at Cal Poly Pomona are quite tough, and these programs are heavily recruited by companies.

I don't really know much about the Cal State Long Beach Engineering programs, but I am pretty sure they are not ranked as highly as Cal Poly Pomona.

Could you place a brief list of what companies recruit at the campus?

Here are a few of the major companies that were at the engineering job fair this year:

Lockheed Martin
Northrop Grumman
Union Pacific
DirecTV
Chevron
Haliburton
Walt Disney Imagineering
State of California
US Coast Guard

the us news and world report rankings show cal poly pomona falling to 16th after being as high as fifth in recent years, but it's still better in engineering than long beach state. the flip side is that beach is a better university and continues to move up faster than pomona on almost every criterion.
