I was "Provisionally Admitted" to Cal Poly Pomona, but in order for me to have my Golden Four I needed to pass Trig this semester. I dropped it.

Can I still take a transferable math over the Summer and transfer there in the Fall (the semester I applied/was admitted to)?

I know the Admissions Department is the place to ask, but I just saw the status this morning and I'm hoping someone can shed some light before Monday.

I don’t think so, no. You would need to make an arrangement with the school. I’m not sure when but schools usually have a date you need to SIR and then a date you need to send your official transcripts by to confirm your admission. As far as I know, whatever requirements you need you must fulfill by the spring semester prior to enrollment in the fall.

I dropped an art class the first day of the semester, but I called each school before I did to let them know and see how it would affect my admissions. It wasn’t a requirement for me, though. Probably should’ve done something similar when deciding to drop it.

The Golden Four is extremely important.

Congratulations on your acceptance. I hope everything works out.

Thanks CalDud. I was kind of afraid of that, but I took that into consideration before I dropped Trig… CPP is really the only school I intend to go to (applied to others as backup, ofcourse), and they do accept applicants for Winter Quarter. So most likely I will have to spend one more semester at my JC, then head up there in the Winter. No problem because I only will have 54 transferable by the end of this semester anyways… I am really confused how I got admitted without a full 60, but honestly I really think nobody knows what is going on. It’s a cluster. Maybe Veteran status helped with admission or something, who knows…
Thanks for the reply. If anyone else has more info, it would be greatly appreciated still.

Woww dude… the whole reason I dropped my class was because I didn’t think I was going to get into any schools with 57 units (54 after I dropped). I wish one of the 4 “guidance counselors” I spoke with at 3 different schools would have mentioned that.

Could you by chance provide a source or link? I even mentioned my confusion on why I was granted admission when I spoke with the admissions department at CPP, and she didn’t have an answer. Well that’s very frustrating. Oh well, I’ll just cross my fingers they accept applicants for Winter semester… apparently that is still yet to be determined.

no link but you can see it if you log on to the csu mentor and click on new application to cal poly pomona, its a meesage frome the campus this is what it states, "Special Notice to Veteran Applicants

In acknowledgement and support of the Veterans Education Opportunities Partnership Initiative, Cal Poly Pomona will accept applications from Veterans who wish to apply to the campus as a lower division transfer. Please submit to the office of Admissions and Outreach"
