Got the acceptance email last week for CS.

I GOT IN TO CIVIL ENGINEERING!!!
I’m a transfer student, I have a 3.2, my pre-reqs are not even close to complete
im so overwhelmed. i think they did look at the supplement, bc I had a lot fo Extracurriculars/work (not related, I jsut have a lot of interests) and I m done with the Calc series, taken two CS courses, and have completed one year of calc based phyics

they emailed me, and its says provisional admit as my status. also im local (from CPP). after this semester, ill be done w IGETC except for biology requirement

Got in as computer engineering, was starting to lose hope cuz so late but…
Stats:
3.2 gpa
All major prep done and igetc
California resident

did people get rejected yet? it would be cruel for CPP to make me wait this long only to find out they were gonna reject me…

also, any idea what time of the day they send acceptances? i don’t want to keep checking my broncodirect throughout the day only to be disappointed it hasn’t changed.
(compsci major, not impacted, 2.9 GPA on my app, but I got a 4.0 last semester and it should be raised to 3.0-3.1.)

Asking for advice …
When should I stop waiting? =/

nothing still… i’m losing hope =(

Got accepted! Computer Engineering

GPA 3.4

Will have 70 units by end of spring

any idea what time of the day you got accepted? also, congrats!

ive been stressing out about this for months. my status is still Referred to Impacted Major. i guess its a bit relieving to see others are having this problem also. i was told veterans get priority admission but maybe not. im trying to major in pre-vet med.
I’ve already got accepted at SLO but i rather go to Pomona but the accept/decline date is MAY 1st so if i dont hear anything soon i will have to go to SLO.
anyone know if i accept SLO can i change my mind later if Pomona accepts me?

Hey vetprevet,
fellow stressed out impacted major transfer student here,

If you got accepted to SLO you are most likely going to get accepted to pomona.
Supposedly we should have are responce before May, but with pomona you never know.
As for changing your mind I don’t know. I would call SLO and ask. But my guess is as long as you don’t sign a contract with them (usually only high profile athletes do that), you should be able to change your mind and go to pomona.Hopefully someone else who has more sure fire answers will come and answer you. Good Luck

Hey,
Does anyone know avg GPA for non-impacted majors? … I’ve applied for Engineering Technology Major for winter quarter, and my GPA is around 3.1. I live in Los Angeles County and my community college is in San Fernando valley, so i don’t think I’ll be considered a local student. So just wanted to know if I have realistic chance for Engineering Technology with 3.1.

@calpolytransfer1,

you’re not in the local area. Engineering technology is not impacted and is relatively easy to get into compared to engineering as a whole. A 3.1 transfer GPA is decent. Are you applying for fall 2014?

What do you guys think would be an acceptable GPA for a Business Admin major transferring into FinanceRealEstateandLaw. I’ve seen people get in with like a 2.6. Is it a big major??

@Lag2013: transfer? from where?

Is there any bio majors who applied to cal poly pomona as transfers within the past two years and can share some tips about the admitting process?

Chance me for Fall 2014!

Major: Accounting. Finance as second choice (both non-impacted). Planning on pursuing a teaching credential if that helps in any way.
GPA: 2.9; probably will be around 2.95-3.0 after this fall semester

I am transferring from the local area (Mt. Sac) and will have all my Golden Four classes completed after this semester. Don’t know if and how that will affect my chances though.

@witter17

According to: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cal-poly-pomona/1582421-fall-2013-acceptance-rates-major.html , there’s a 65% admitted rate for Accounting. Since you’re from Mt. Sac, you have more priority than someone with a 2.9 from let’s say… San Francisco CC? But you already know that.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Question.
So if you get admitted and want to apply for housing, (specifically the villages), how does it work? I saw the requirement is that students have to be 21+ or have 36 quarter units completed. I will be 20 by the time I get in but I will have over 36 quarter units completed… (More like 100?) I’ve heard of some places considering or as and as in you have to be both. I’m trying to make sure here.
And how are the villages like? The website’s photo gallery is broken for me. :(
Hi guys, I had a couple of questions regarding getting accepted and I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I submitted my application in October and it says complete so now I’m wondering exactly how long I have to wait to know whether I’m in or not. I’m getting concerned because I read some people didn’t find out until April and the FAFSA deadline (which requires the school code) is March 1st. Any feedback will help!
