I applied to cal poly slo under a dairy science major… I am aware that the average ag GPA is 3.87 and I have exceeded that by .01 the only problem is my sat score is super low. My highest score is a 960 even though it should be a 1253… Something that might effect my chances are that I’m a local kid and I have a relative that is an employee at poly… I don’t think that these will cover my sat score entirely but it should help???
Good news is the Dairy Science has a very high acceptance rate around >90%, however; my concern is that your SAT score (Math+CR) is 300 points lower than the average. With your GPA of 3.8+, but low SAT score indicates grade inflation at your school. Even though Dairy science is a relatively easy acceptance, the course curriculum is not easy. Do you think you will be able to handle the fast pace of the quarter system along with the rigor of the courses? Based on what you have posted, I would say you have a good chance for an acceptance especially if you applied ED, but will you be successful? that is the question.
