Hey,
So I really liked Nutrition @ CalPolySLO so how competitive is this major at CalPoly? It’s in Agriculture section, and it said you need a 3.9? That seemed a little high for nutrition, but I could be wrong. Any info on this?
Projected acceptance rate for Nutrition is around 45%. The 3.9 GPA is the average CP GPA for the College of Agriculture and Environmental science. Some majors are an easier admit than others.
If you want to be competitive, I would strive for at least the average or above in GPA and test scores.
So is Nutrition, (would you say) a competitive major @ cal poly slo? What would you say is a competive GPA / ACT score for it, not specifically as I know even highly qualified applicants get rejected, but competitively what should I strive for? Also do you happen to know if CAL POLY SLO offers ED?
ED was not offered this year and not sure if they will offer again in future years.
The acceptance rate for SLO majors can range from around 7% up to above 90%. I would say Nutrition is moderately competitive in the College of Agriculture and Env. Science. The most competitive is Animal Science, (all those prospective Pre-vet students).
The 2017 Freshman profile stats should be out in a few months so I would take a look again at the averages and aim for at least the average GPA/Test scores or above.
SLO is the only CSU that uses 9-11th grades and gives bonus points for extra Science/Language/Math/Art and English classes above the minimum CSU requirements so HS course rigor is important.
