Does anyone know what the projected acceptance rate is for Food Science?
What’s a good range for a MCA score for nutrition?
@NJDevilsFan2012 what no way, it seems like most business scores are in the 4300 range, am I wrong? Ahhh!
@swimkarenna They are. I would have had a MCA score of 4400 but I just recently found out that they don’t give non-academic points for early decision which really screws me over because now my MCA score is just 4100… so basically i don’t stand a chance…
I really hope they post it tomorrow. If we have to wait another day I might explode from all the stress. X_X
@NJDevilsFan2012 aww no don’t lose hope! There are sooo many things that go into an admissions process. And, id you don’t get in, everything happens for a reason. I have a friend in the same position as us and she didn’t get into Cal Poly, but now she’s at SDSU and she’s having the best time. We’ll all be fine wherever we end up
@NJDevilsFan2012 and if you don’t get accepted ED you’ll just get deferred to RD and you’ll get the extra 300 points added on to your score.
@eyemgh So when you say non academic MCA points are disregarded for ED, does that include hours per week an d extra curricular activities? Thank you very much
@NJDevilsFan2012 Do you like Dainius Zubrus? I am glad the Sharks picked him up.
@Reef2Reefuser lol. I don’t want to get too much into hockey, but you’re kidding right? you must be kidding…
Wait what? Why do you get 300 points added if you get moved to RD?
@eca1998 I guess there are extra MCA adders that get added for RD
At this point I don’t even care if I don’t get accepted for ED i just want to know already. The tension is killing me
Hope i get accepted for business so i dont have to change my major to coms
@Northwood16 Cal Poly SLO ED is non-binding unlike most other ED schools so therefore you can accept admission to another school with no penalty whatsoever. That’s why ED at SLO only has an 83% yield.
Early Decision at Cal Poly literally means that the student gets to decide if they want to become a Mustang early (between December 15th and January 15th).
@poorrichboy really are you sure? I feel like I’ve read multiple sources saying it’s binding but maybe I’m wrong
@poorrichboy http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cal-poly-san-luis-obispo/1393039-is-the-early-admission-decisions-binding.html
@poorrichboy I visited Cal Poly SLO just 2 months ago and the admissions officer clearly reinstated multiple times that early decision IS BINDING contractually. You may get out of ED for medical or financial reasons, however you MUST go to Cal Poly SLO if you are admitted into ED. Early Action is non-binding but Cal Poly SLO does not offer that for anyone. It has been known that for some schools, if you apply early decision and accept a different schools acceptance, your acceptance could be withdrawn from both schools and you could be sued if you do not have a legitimate reason for going because by submitting the ED application, you are agreeing to THEIR terms. While Cal Poly SLO has not sued anyone over this matter, you cannot just expect to get out of your contract. @Northwood16 hope this answers your question!
@NJDevilsFan2012 lol. All he does here is take penalties. I had hope that he might help San Jose in some way, but instead he is in the box and making poor plays. Sharks looked horrible against the Flames tonight.
oh my. I’m pretty late to the game, considering decisions might come out tomorrow. (I’ve been stalking this thread for the last month though) I’m applying mechanical engineering, 4.08 GPA, 1890 SAT, 16-20 hours of unrelated extracurricular activities. I’m not very confident, even though I want to go to CP so bad. (also going into a mainly male-dominated major seems really intimidating) anyways, good luck everyone!
