**cal poly slo fall 2016 transfer thread**

Well that’s unfortunate about the work and ECs. I had an internship at NASA last summer and at the time I filled out the application I didn’t realize this counted as work. They wouldn’t let me update the application either. Hopefully my stats will come through.

I’m a transfer from CC and I may get conditionally accepted for city and regional planning, optimistically of course. I failed one of my courses (Design and Visual Comm) that I have listed on my application, but that course is not required for my major. Would my admission get revoked?

@alexteoo I have all the physics and calculus done. I’m shocked too, especially after another student from my same school was accepted with the all the same classes last year (and a lower GPA to boot). I think they’ve ramped up the requirements in the last few months. It’s a little unfair, too. They make it virtually impossible to enter that program without having two years of continuous arch. courses which was an impossibility at my school…

How screwed am I if I didn’t put an emphasis when I applied for Business Adminstration? For some reason I thought you would pick an emphasis after being accepted.

The acceptance process is so stressful! But, I figured I would hop on the thread and get to know some of the other transfers! So good luck to us all! @HarryBaals go Central Coast!

Some decisions for freshman have already come out, when should transfers be expecting?

@jwilli I would say, based on last year’s thread, around the 25th, but I won’t check my portal until the beginning of March or until I’ve heard of other people getting in, lol. don’t want to be checking every 5 minutes like 2 years ago.

I might still anyways haha. I’m very worried about the F I got and want to do everything I can if I am admitted. Would anyone recommend meeting with a Cal Poly counselor?

Has anyone been accepted yet for transfer?

Someone shared this link to the release dates of admissions decisions on the freshman site. im not sure how accurate this is. http://admissions.calpoly.edu/communications/stage4yield.html

When I got in last year, I found at early-mid Feb of year.

My buddy who wasn’t fortunate enough to get in, did not get officially denied til March.

Good luck everyone!

Accepted!!! Everyone check!!!

CRP major checked around 5:30

@jwilli what is your major?

Feel like I should update you guys… I ended up switching my major before the app opened up, so here’s the updated info:

Location: In-state, Irvine Valley College
Major: Psychology
IGETC: Completed
Major Prep: Finished stats over summer, intro to psych in the fall, and am currently taking child development and social psych this spring semester (so I literally couldn’t put any completed or graded major courses on my app unfortunately)
GPA when I submitted my app: 3.88
Current GPA: 3.78 (went down because of a B in organic chem 1, will most likely go down a little bit again after I finish taking organic chem 2)
ECs: work, 11-15 hrs/week on average, however it doesn’t have anything to do with my intended major; volunteering/clubs/activities, 6-10 hrs/week on average and I hold a volunteer “leadership position” at the hospital I volunteer at-- new volunteers shadow me since I’m the only volunteer familiar with one of the departments and I was there for several months

I applied to child development and they’re both in the college of liberal arts so we should be hearing in the same wave of acceptances at least! We can keep each other updated. @ntweeter
