Cal Poly SLO: Quarter System

<p>I was wondering if anyone knew how it work. I snooped around on SLO’s website and it says 4 quarters. I immediately went to the calendar and checked and basically school the whole year with no “summer break”? </p>

<p>Does it mean we have school the whole year? or Is the summer quarter for students who need to make up some classes or try to advance themselves to get ahead. </p>

<p>I don’t see my Financial Aid covering that quarter. I guess what I’m trying to say is that is the summer quarter mandatory? I might be interpreting it wrong, but hopefully some current student’s parents or current students can chime in. </p>

<p>Summer quarter is not mandatory. Most kids travel, do internships, coops, work, or surf all summer.</p>

<p>Summer Q is usually for students to catch up after they have taken a quarter off or failed a class.</p>
