<p>So I found out that I am on the waitlist for Journalism at Cal Poly SLO and I heard that if you write a letter restating your interest it will be sent straight to the admissions office and they will put you higher on the list. I also heard that they should send back an email saying this but I sent both an email and an actual letter through the mail about two weeks ago and I haven’t heard back. The letter basically says that Cal Poly is my first choice, my recent grades of a 4.5 gpa the last semester, and an internship at a radio station. What do you think my chances are of getting in? Thank you!</p>
<p>Hmm, that’s strange that you were waitlisted for journalism with such a high GPA. My GPA was good, but not as high as yours, and I got in for journalism. That was a few years ago though, and I switched my major later on. Just out of curiosity, what were your ACT?SAT scores? Or was your cumulative GPA before last semester significantly lower? In that case, showing them that you improved a lot, just by doing better last semester, is good. I would give them a couple more weeks. If you don’t hear back then, maybe try calling admissions to check on the status of your acceptance?</p>
