Wanted to turn in my CSU app today after so much editing and going to various counselors and I ran into this message:
Based on your college coursework assigned to your General Education Requirements, you may not meet ’s minimum coursework requirements because you took the courses outside the preferred timeframe. Verify that you assigned your courses correctly. This includes courses that are ‘In progress’ and ‘Planned.’
EXTREMELY CONFUSED.
I took Speech 1 in Summer 2016, English 1A in Fall 2016, Statistics in Fall 2016 and English 1B in Spring 2017. Is there something wrong with that? I’m still taking classes in the Fall but they are not the Golden 4. Is this a glitch? Did anyone else get this message? Did I take those classes at the wrong time? I’m going to see a counselor tomorrow, but wanted to hear your input.
Ugh, I am currently having this problem as well. It is stressing me out so much and don’t have much time to see my counselor… let me know if you find anything out please!
@nnnickey I feel somewhat relieved that someone else is going through this too! I chatted with the online help people and they told me this:
Brian
Hello, I tried submitting my application yesterday, but I ran into this message and I’m not sure why. The four GE classes I chose were all taken before this summer so I do not know what they are talking about. There are no errors in the Transcript Entry section

Stephanie
Do you have planned coursework in the application?
Brian
Yes, I do.
Stephanie
That is why you are getting the message. Some schools prefer that ALL courses are completed prior to the fall term.
If the school that you are applying does not have any preference on the planned coursework, you can simply select “I have read and understood this message” and continue to your submission
Still going to see a counselor today.
@nnnickey I talked to a counselor and they told me everything looked fine on my application. Everything is where it should be and everything that should have been completed was completed. So based on what the CSU help person told me and what the counselor suggested, I’m just going to submit the application and see what happens. It could just be a glitch in the system as well. I’m applying to CSUF by the way!
Ok… I called cal state apply this morning and they said to double check my transcript when I already have… I called to see a counselor tomorrow so hopefully everything goes good for me too. CSUF is one of the schools I am applying to as well, best of luck! (:
