CSU: Taking GE Requirement in Summer Before Transfer in Fall

I was accepted into SFSU for Fall 2013 as a Ca. Comm. College transfer student, but due to financial and schedule problems, I most likely won't be able to complete two classes that are part of the "golden four" GE requirement by the end of Spring semester.

One is Communications and the other is a Math class.

Does anyone know if SFSU or any CSUs have ever allowed anyone in the past to complete these classes in the summer right before transfer?

I called them and they either said no or to ask them again in the summer.

That’s a tough situation. They usually don’t count the summer coursework. Only thing you can do is wait and give them a call during summer.

Wow. So everyone’s getting accepted to colleges without GE courses? Why is it when I call they say they can’t give me a decision until I finish the course??? I’m so confused.

Well the golden four courses are required. If you were approved and still haven’t completed the golden four then they can easily rescind your admission.

I know I just have 1 math class to take. Which I’ll be starting in March & completing in May, but still shouldn’t they give me some sort of preliminary decision soon? They keep telling me they can’t give me any decision because of that one class and BUT I see on here that other colleges are giving decisions to people who are doing their last “Golden Four” classes now. I’m confused.

If they accepted you and on the application u put your missing those classes you should be good. but if not just call admissions. i know that sfsu and eastbay accepts everyone so they dont care if u have it completed. if thats the case take it when u have time and at a community college to save tons of money. gluck message me if u have any other question. i applied to sjsu and eastbay and surrounding area.
