I am an incoming Freshman and I honestly have no idea how college works.

My major is undecided so I am getting Gen Ed out of the way and deciding when I transfer.
I’m hoping to transfer to San Marcos.

I know I have to have certain things to get in like “The Golden Four”
Oral communication
Written communication
Critical thinking
Mathematics or quantitive reasoning

How do I know which classes to take while in Community College?

I also know that I have to have 60 transferrable units. What I don’t know is what those units are.

I know, I’m clueless.

If someone were to clear some of this up for me, I would be grateful. Thank you!

As of right now since you are undecided you should look to complete the csu igetc. There is probably a paper at your cc outlining the courses you need to fulfill.
Also look at assist.org it articulates what classes you need for a specific major in order to transfer to csu San Marcos. If you’re planning on majoring in engineering you shouldn’t pursue the igetc due to the fact that there are a lot of pre requisites needed to take in order to transfer
