i'm terrified that after 2 years of hardwork at a community college, i will not be admitted to berkeley as a transfer students.

i mean does a 4.0, part-time job, and an extracurrricular activity, with decent essay...basically mean your in?

or is it really as competitive as i hear it is? (by the way, i'm going to a major in "political economy of industrial societies")

so like, whats an ideal candidate..you know? i know this question is annoying, but i really want somebody to be honest and tell me the odds and how hard i need to work

Your desription for PEIS would most certainly get you in from a california cc. Go into the transfer forum and find out what sorts of things are expected for cal transfers into L and S into similar majors, or call the office of admission (or poke around the website) for lots of information. You probably need at least a 3.5 from a pretty good jc to have a good chance, but this is just a guess.

this website makes me feel like there are way too many 4.0 community college students in Cali...basically, the things that set 4.0's apart from each other are extracurriculars,jobs,accomplishments...and thats basically it...get a 4.0, get involved and i should be fine?

4.0 IF YOU HAVE MET THE PREREQUISITES FOR THE MAJOR is pretty much a guaranteed in, except for Haas. I think that's the only exception. But the prerequisites part is very very important.
