I have already taken AP Calc and feel I learned the material relatively well and passed the exam. should I review or take the credit?

when it comes to math and science, ALWAYS take the credit. I am not kidding.

Yes, take the credit. I took my calc classes at another school, but I believe that their calc 1 class teaches some calc 2 material in order to leave some room for their calc 2 to teach linear algebra (linear algebra and calc 2 are one class).

ilyssa1257, why do you say always take the credit?

So LN trans are you saying take calc 1 or calc 2?

im in biomedical engineering and I only have like 4 maths so do i really need to rush?

because, math and science classes at GT are hard. Almost everyone has taken some sort of calculus and high school, and gotten credit for the class. The average GPA for the class is still around a 2.5. Calc 1 will not be an “easy A” even if you have already taken the class. You are in the best place if you come in with Calc 1 and Physics 1&2 because those are some of the major weed out classes.

If you haven’t been convinced by ilyssa yet,
[SGA Course Critique | Search Course Critique](http://www.sga.gatech.edu/critique/Search.php?Department=MATH&CourseNumber=1501)

That should convince you (2.28 is the average of every class listed there).

I’m just really confused at why chem and bio classes aren’t anywhere near as hard (or perhaps have better curves/more improvement opps.) as physics and math. Is that normal for engineering schools? I mean, I guess it’s b/c the math and physics courses are fundamental “gatekeeper” courses for engineering, whereas the others are lesser so.

just skip to calc II with your roommate so he’s not all alone in the hardest class he’s ever taken
