so uc berk extension offers up to calc 1b and i picked calc 1a.. i got a 5 on the ap calc bc exam last year..
i asked my friend who took bc with me and is at berk now... she said i'm going to be bored to death in calc 1a and then end up not going to class cause it's so boring .. what do you guys think? should i change to 1b? (i already sent the form in but later maybe) calculus is definitely not a strong subject for me and i depended a lot on others to explain things to me when i took it but i don't want to waste my time taking calc 1a if it's just going to be stuff i learned already.

AP Calculus BC is credit for a full year of Calculus, 1A and 1B. You should have credit for both classes.

Save yourself time and money by going to Math 53 directly. You can petition to take 53 on the main campus, even though you are in FPF.

What if I took Calculus BC this year and I don't get my score until July? Can I still petition then?

Also, would it still be a good idea to take 1a and 1b again just because math at Berkeley is supposedly more difficult and it might also help pad my GPA?

Wow, thanks for mentioning that, I am taking a college Calculus 1-2 course right now, so taking Calculus 3, even though I'm FPF, would be great!

Math 1A might pad your GPA, but Math 1B will tear it apart.

unlimitedx. did you take math 1b and 53? Which ones easier?
