should i take math 1a or 1b

got a 4 on the ab test junior year (i'm sure it was very close to a 5, i just freaked out a bit, seeing that it was the first ap test experience).

i'm a spring admit, and plan to participate in fpf unless something happens.

inputs?

Math 1A at extension is usually taught by two instructors. Both classes are very hard, but if you get the concepts, both instructors tend to hand out high grades.

Math 1B is taught by a new instructor, and his class is harder.

So the bottom line is, both classes are exceedingly tough, with 1A focused on differentiation and 1B focused on integrating. There is no way out, unless if you get a 5 on your AP Math BC and take multivariable calc straight out.

I'd still advise you to take 1a though.

i'm also an extension student, and I'm expecting a 5 on BC CALC. I'm a MCB pre-med major.
the choices are: math 32, math 16A, Math1A/1B. which course should I take? what does math 32 and math 16A focus on?

also, if you're engineering, is it too behind to be start off with 1A?

i thought 1a is calc ab and 1b is calc bc, so 1a would cover both differentiation and integration.

unlimited speaks the truth. If you COULD pass out of both math 1A and 1B, DO IT. Unless you're an intended math major, then you should test your metal, so to speak.

....and just so you know, Math at Berkeley is nothing like AP exams. I came to Berkeley cocky with my math abilities........Perfect on SAT I and IIC Math, and 5s on AP Calc BC and Stats my junior year in high school, I thought I owned the competition. Turned out I was wrong. Good luck, and study hard.
