my fault....earlier i posted rocket a...after a slight miscalculation it turns out it is rocket b...lol

hmm i got 48 for rocket A and 49 for rocket B... I took BC tho, that doesn't matter tho right

where do they post to FRQs? I think that all I had to do for the rocket one was take the square root of 81 to simplify, but I convinced myself that it wasn't a perfect square.... oh well

A 71 for a 4 would be truly insane.

yeah there's no way it'll be that high.

square root of 81 sounds about right.

AH! On the traffic light problem, I used the Mean Value Theorem b/c I had done similar problems in the past like it. But then, I did a double take and saw "average value" and I freaked out! I remember on past tests it used to say "average (mean) value." Maybe they changed that in 2006, but guess what I did? I stupidly stuck integrals in for the top part of my MVT. Will I lose credit altogether even if I left my MVT answer? All that changed was that I added the integral symbols onto it (the method stayed the same). Maybe I'll lose a point? Does anyone have an idea?

Yeah you might lose a point for setup, but other than that, if you got the correct answer, you should be fine. That one was probably one for setup, one for answer, and one for units.

Am I seriously the only one who got some freaking ln expression for Rocket B? I swear it was like ln 81 + 2 or something, which is much less than 48, but since I'm dumb, I put that ln 81 + 2 was greter than 48. Damn...no points for me.

Yeah... ahh I hate myself for not trusting my original thought process!

So, ... I've been thinking about the testing irregularities that went on during my test.

I'm a little ambivalent. I guess it's too late to report anything, but I don't even know if it'd be worth it? I guess I could take the test over during the "Form B" period, (and get about 2 weeks to study some topics). Idk... I'm almost positive I got a high 4, and a 4 is the minimum I need for credit @ Princeton... should I just leave it be? For those of you who don't know what the irregularities were, there was jackhammering going on and some contruction on my school's roof and we heard it from the exam room for the entire duration of the test! It was soo hard to concentrate on Calc w/ drilling/jackhammering! Should I just forget about it? Please, I need advice! What would you do?

For the traffic light problem, finding the damned integral would have taken forever, so I said screw it. Got the rest of the problem though.

Form B is more difficult!

Well, it's SUPPOSED to be just as difficult (but I've heard about how it's been for other subjects...)

So.... if they did make me retake it, I guess the grade on that one would count huh?

There are several things I would change if I could take the Form B test. I would use my time MUCH more wisely, rather than checking "intersections" on my calculator several times (I have "self-diagnosed/proclaimed" OCD), so.... idk. The extra stress and time away from my other APs wouldn't be worth it (I'm testing later for Bio as it is).

Any last suggestions?

Are you even allowed to retake it? Call CB and find out.

If there are testing irregularities, you are certainly allowed (as long as they approve of it).

My main issue is, I'm not sure if it's worth it to call them. I'm weighing the pros and cons and looking up to my CC friends for some advice.

PROS:

If I could retest (sans jackhammering noise), I'm sure I could concentrate much better I'd use my time more effectively I'd have more time to srudy for it I'd know which areas I need to study a little more

CONS:

I'm already testing later for Bio It's added stress All I need is a 4 to get into Princeton's MATH 104 course (and I believe I got a high 4, even w/ the distraction) I could POSSIBLY do worse on the Form B if it happens to be wildly harder than the original

So far, those are the main PROS and CONS.....

What do you think?

When in doubt, think 'Stand and Deliver.' :). Actually, I don't know. Just some random statement.

I wouldn't retake it. Not only would it create more stress for youself, your school, and your classmates, in my opinion form B is always more difficult.

Also, I'm sure you got a 4, so don't worry too much :).

Thanks Ziggy.... :)

Anyone else feel the same way? I pretty much think it's pointless to retake it (although a 5 would be really nice). Form B could be CRAZY HARD though. But if I don't retake, and when the Form B FRQs go online, and I see that they're easy.... AHH! I'd be a little annoyed!

Oh hey... is it just me, or were there no related rates questions on the exam? Maybe there was in the few that I skipped, but I remember being surprised. Were there any?

Did the tangent question ask for the equation of the line or just the slope. Because I definatly put an equation of the line..

And also, on the traffic light with avg rate of change.. Was it referring to the derivitive of L(t) or just L(t) itself. Because if it were L(t) wouldn't one have just goten 0?

Don't retake it.
