Calc AB or BC senior year?

Which one should I take? I could probably barely study and get an A in AB or study really hard and probably get a B in BC (teacher is really hard). I plan on going to Michigan (Ross). Do you need Calc 2 or higher at college if you are a business major?

You could take BC because many biz schools like the fact that you’ve taken AB your junior year. If anything, attempt to take a summer course/online summer course in BC to get used to the material.

You won’t be required anything past AB material. I would recommend taking BC though, because when you take the AP exam if you’re taking the BC exam you will get a BC score and an AB subscore . What that means is there are going to be both AB level and BC level questions on the exam, and you can bomb the BC material but because you’ve taken the BC class you should be pretty solid on the AB material and will probably be able to place out of Calc 1 in college. Or you should do well and place out of both Calc 1 and Calc 2. Colleges prefer to see ou taking challenging courses so BC will show a strong schedule to them when you apply.

I did not take AB junior year. I definitely don’t want to take Calc 3 in college. I have heard from a lot of people that Calc 2 at Michigan is pretty bad. If I don’t have to take Calc 2 or 3, then I probably won’t. I already have a pretty hard schedule with 3 other APs.

If you did not take AB junior year, then I’d go ahead and take that. I took AB my junior year and no math senior year because I was unfortunate enough to get the BC teacher for AB and she drives everyone crazy. On a brighter note, it felt great to hear the BC kids complain about her all year. I had totally warned them, too.

Also, 3 APs really is not bad. If you can’t handle 3 APs, maybe you shouldn’t be looking at Michigan.

I would have a total of four with AB/BC. I will probably take BC. I got a 33 on my ACT and am in the top 10 in my class. Our school sends 30+ kids every year to Michigan. So I am pretty sure I can handle it. So, maybe you should just shut up.
