I am a prospective business major, I'm wondering if taking Calc and Econ at the same time would be too much work for 1st semester as a Freshman, since I heard econ is quite challenging at berkeley, is that true?

If you’ve taken AP econ in high school and understood it you should do fine. Keep in mind that econ classes are curved by GSI section… so if your section is really smart a curve will be small, if your section is mentally impaired, there’s a larger curve

If you are taking the Math 16 series, it’ll be definitely okay. I don’t think Econ is that hard, but some people just don’t get the subject and then do horribly. Others get the subject and is really easy for them.

it shouldn’t be a problem if you take them together. if you don’t have a strong background in one or two of those subjects, then just take them along with some other easier requirements like R&C or breadth.
