Ok my weighted gpa for the past six semesters of my high school career has been a 3.636(bad, yes I know) however this semester I received a 4.25. I do not have my updated transcript with me. So would the calculation be 3.636(6/7) + 4.25(1/7)? I just want to be 100% sure before I put it on the commonapp. Also my class ranking would have changed after my grades this semester so should I just not put my class ranking and let them see it on the application, or should I use my old ranking? Thanks for the help in advance!

*let them see it on the transcript I mean, sorry it’s late

That would only be the calculation if you took the same number of credits each semester. You need to weight it by the number of credits. (3.6#credits + 4.2#credits) / total credits. This is basic algebra.

Ok thanks, and no need for the snide remark I always double check things that are pertinent even if I am pretty sure they are correct. But thanks anyway and yes in each semester I had the same number of credits.

always good to double check

Exactly my thinking
