Calculating GPA out of 4.0

I'm not a parent, but this seemed to be the best place to get a good answer to my question. How do you calculate it and what classes count. Since 9th grade, all my grades have been 95 and higher at the end of the year. Does this mean i have a 4.0 unweighted? I'm really not sure how it works. Thanks

At most schools who use the 4.0 system, a 95 would be an A. Schools use different systems, though, and colleges will get a report from your school about how they grade.

There are innumerable methods of calculating GPA (what = A, eg 90- 100; 93-100; what classes are included; whether it is weighted or not). Many many colleges will recalculate your GPA according to their own system, regardless of how your school does it. This is the only way they can compare apples to apples.
