I am taking pre calculus over the summer and really need to get my graphing calculator working. I just bought it and dont want to buy another one. The problem is with the graphing function. Whenever I put in an equation to graph the prompt on the screen says invalid dim. (Invalid Dimension?) I dont understand why it stopped working and If you could help me out I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

Click the Window button right under the screen. Make sure everything is correct (especially that your min values are not larger than your max values).

Don't buy a new calculator. That can be easily fixed. First of all, is it a TI-84/83 or something? If so, and assuming you don't have any programs on it, or didn't customize anything on it, then I'd just recommend you just reset it.

DON'T DO THIS IF YOU HAVE PROGRAMS!
It will restore your calculator to factory settings, like when you got it.

Turn it on, hit 2nd, then the + sign (MEM). Then look down to 7. It should say "reset." Either hit 7 or just scroll down to it and select it. Then choose number 1 on the next screen, with the option "all RAM," and select that.
Your calculator will be restored to how it was when you bought it. I would recommend just not to mess with the graphing stuff until you get to class and they show you how. A lot of small things can mess it up if you don't know what you're doing.

Good luck.

Thank you, I reset it and it works again.

For future reference, even if you reset it, the programs are archived so they won't be affected. Now, if you unarchive programs, there's where you can run into some issues...
