I wasn't so sure where exactly to post this. Anyways, my district lends students graphing calculators for free for certain math classes and expect it to be returned at the end of the year. It's basically a contract that requires the borrower to pay $120 if they end up losing or damaging it. (Essentially, they want it back in the condition it was lent in).

Anyways, my TI-83 Plus (Silver Edition) just stopped working. I can't get it to turn on and I tried changing the batteries with no success. I even went to the website and followed through all their procedures and options in the troubleshooting section. Once again, it just won't start up. I would send it back to the company (which isn't an immediate option at this point), but I'm not the one who purchased it, so I don't have the information to send it back. Also, there are no extra calculators in the school to help me get through the school-year until something better comes along (budget cuts - go figure). I feel guilty about making my mom spend money (especially if it's for the district).

It's just frustrating - I have midterms coming up for my class along a multitude of study guides to complete, which are all extremely time-consuming.

Any idea what to do?

Thanks
