So I will probably take the placement tests for Calculus and Chemistry today, I took AP Calc BC and AP Chem and will probably get a 5 on both exams this year. Before I take the UF Placement tests, should I study for them or are they fairly easy?

Also I don't have a Graphing calculator so would that be detrimental for the placement tests? I only have a scientific calculator.

Also in general what is the best calculator (math/engineering major) to buy for use at UF? I used a TI-84 for the last three years in high school.

Also I currently don't own a laptop and I know that you need one for college, will financial aid cover that?

I’ve only taken the math placement test. If you’ve taken Calc BC, you don’t need to study. It is absurdly easy, only algebra 2 and basic trigonometry.

Chem test is free, you pay $10 to take math…

Thesos, Chem was super easy… I took IB SL Chem (took the AP exam too) and only missed one question on it.

If i already have credit for Calc I through AP Calc AB and will most likely have credit for Calc 2 through BC, would i have to take the placement test?

Ugh I just took the Chemistry test and it was extremely easy and I got to question 22 and then I accidentally pressed the side button on my mouse by accident and it took me to the last question so I got 10/10 right on the math and only 13/17 right on the Chemistry.

It says that: You may enroll in CHM2045 if:

Your score is 6 or greater on the math portion AND 6 or greater on the chemistry portion of the Chemistry Readiness Assessment (ChRA).

But a 13/17 still looks bad if I am expecting a 5 on the AP Exam? Do they look at it?, or does it only matter if I get 6+ right?

I just finished the math one. It was easy for the most part but some questions were really tedious and boring. The graphing calculator helped me on no more than three questions, really.
I ended up getting an 83%, good enough in the event that I didn’t pass AP Calculus AB.

Thanks thesos!.. Having taken Calc AB last year, i have a score for it… Would the score report sent to me by college board exempt me from taking the test? My cumulative score report won’t get sent to UF until early/mid July, while I have preview in late June.
