<p>Hey I am an incoming first-year at UVA! I have heard that calculators aren't allowed in math classes at UVA, but should I still bring one to school to just check work with, or will I not need one at all?</p>
<p>They are usually used in most science classes to handle very large or small numbers.</p>
<p>Calculators were always allowed in my math classes, it’s just that you didn’t need them for anything. You will want to bring it just in case, or you can use wolfram alpha for your homework. You can usually use it for your homework…</p>
<p>^I haven’t had a class that allowed them, but then again I’m not a math major. Only went through DiffEq. No calculators for any math I took.</p>
