40 questions, 5 parts, I think 2 hours-ish. Must be completed in one sitting.

what is a 37/40 gonna give me?

I saw a post in here that said 36/40 was borderline but they look at each section

I somehow missed 2 on the algebra part... so would they see those as mistakes? and missed one in the differential section because i didn't know how to do it.

Will that give me 2 semesters

Also in addition to my ? above. If i love math and did pretty well in calc, but want to put in more effort and understand calculus a lot better would analysis be a good choice for me?

If you want to understand the "why" of calculus, take analysis. As previously stated, it's proof based and unlike any previous calculus you've taken.

SISIS- you will probably get 2 semesters, if it's graded like it was last year.

wow so even if u get a 40/40 but get a 1 on the calc exam u will still get credit?!

probably would never happen unless they cheated. But then they'd be hurting themselves and their GPA. But really, if that ever happend, if you never sent that AP score then maybe.

i have no clue how these work though

Just a off topic question.

How would you address your advisor in an email? Would it be Sir/Ma'am or by their first names or Mr./Mrs. last name?

not mrs.. only address by ms. or mr.

isnt it supposed to be like "Professor ***?"

an advisor is not a professor.

guys, i have a question for the people who have already taken the online calculus placement exam. is there a timer or something while you take the test? everyone says it is a 2 hour-ish test, but is this because you have a time limit or because thats how long it will take you to complete the test?

i think theres a timer that is set at 2 hours and you have to take it in one sitting.

uhhh... i didn't see a timer. I hope there wasn't because I was going back and forth from my comp to the pizza party in my living room

i just took the placement exam and I got 25/40.. is this enough to be placed in 21-121 ?? (i'm a CIT student, and i read that CIT students must complete up to 21-122 in the first year..)

i did take ap calc ab during my senior year. my final grade was B, and i didn't take the AP exam..

i didn't see a timer.. it took me about 2 hours.

or do i have to start from 21-120?? i did well on the first 2 sections, okay on the 3rd, and bad on the last 2 sections.. =(

i finally had time to do the stupid placement test.

39/40

Anyone know how to do the 1st question of section 5, I was looking at it for like 15mins and i couldn't think any way to attack the problem. PM me if you know how to do it, and yes I am way too curious about things.

does this exam test your knowledge of the whole subject of calculus? cuz ive only taken calc AB, and if they have BC questions on it i wont pass.

You don't "pass" it, you just get a score; rather, they give you credit based on it. If you know all the AB stuff, they'll give you credit for the first semester, and you'll start where you left off.

25/40 should get you into 21-121 and after that, you'll have to do 21-123 which is a half-semester course

oh lovely.. thank you lildude_ravie!! but why 21-123 next?? what about 21-122??
